For decades, the fervor around Turkey’s tourism market has been rising in a crescendo.
However there is always a lag period between the market recognizing a new hot spot and the big names moving in to consummate the boom market.
Turkey however- especially in respect to the subsequent rise of Bodrum and Istanbul- has fully seemed to arrive as a preeminent luxury power on the global scale.
Behind this boom is the Suzer Group’s newest generation leader, Baran Suzer.
Suzer, 43, has sought to expand the notoriety of Istanbul for years on a global level. He’s famously hosted the most internationally attended and written about galas at his hotel the Ritz Carlton Istanbul and been a chair to many notable international events such as the Amfar Gala.
On July 1st, in the latest of Suzer’s ventures, the Ritz Carlton Istanbul opened the first Nobu in all of Turkey and only the 14th in Europe.
The launch event was a star studded event that spawned articles in Luxury Travel Magazine, Wealth Magazine, and recorded hundreds of millions of impressions from celebrity posts on Instagram.
Days later, the event is still being talked about across Europe. Critics view it as a landmark moment for the recognition of Istanbul as a global power player in the luxury scene and a new top hotspot next to Paris, London, the South Of France, and Italy’s Amalfi Coast.
For even more Turkish variety, interested readers should also look into Bodrum where standout destinations such as Macakizi, Lucca By The Sea, 74ESCAPE and the Store and Nusret are setting global standards for architectural design and guest experience.
