A redesigned Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) this year will meet the commercial challenges facing the market by promoting the superyacht lifestyle to a new set of wealthy clients. September 22 to 25 will offer a bespoke experience of unparalleled prestige to the superyacht clientele.
The Informa Group, who own MYS, have brought together decision-makers from the yachting industry to form a Steering Committee, which will play an advisory role in supporting development strategy as it unfurls over coming years. There are also plans to provide financial support, matching the annual amounts invested by the industry in its marketing action plan to showcase the superyacht lifestyle.
This year’s show will introduce a new badge system—“Discover” for yacht clients; “Advise” for their advisors and consultants; and “Connect” for trade visitors—with the goal of enhancing the flow of visitors on the quaysides while making it easier for private visitors to board the superyachts and luxury tenders. A participant’s category will be assigned during online registration.
On Wednesday September 22, the Dockside Area will be open to “Discover” and “Advise” badges only, so that these categories of visitor can meet with shipyards, yacht brokers, designers or tender manufacturers in a more intimate and personalized environment. From Thursday, the Dockside Area will be open to all participants.
Sapphire Experience VIPs will have access to two new first-class VIP entrances, near the Upper Deck Lounge (exhibition space for the show’s luxury partners) and close to the Yacht Club de Monaco.
With renamed exhibition areas, distinct themes will make it easier for visitors to find their way around and there will be sections dedicated to innovative projects and trends in sailing, design and exploration, part of a program that will expand in coming years to reflect the range of activities on board a superyacht.
Informa’s main priority is obviously to safeguard the health of participants and the 2021 MYS will implement all necessary health measures, guided by its AllSecure program and regulations issued by the Monaco government.
