On January 23, an international award will make its debut in Monaco at the Yacht Club. The MDO.Montecarlo Prize will serve as international recognition for the world’s best companies that stand out for innovation, technology, design and sustainability in terms of product design for aesthetic, ergonomic, functional and industrial process type qualities.
The jury, presided by Cesare Maria Casati alongside internationally recognized professionals, met in the Principality last November 29-30 to select the winners from 52 finalist companies from 12 countries (Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Spain, United States, France, Italy, Japan, Monaco, Netherlands, Portugal, Switzerland).
Over the two days, the panel chose 14 prizes in 8 categories: a manufacturer from any country presenting a product created by a designer from the same country; a manufacturer from a country presenting a product created by a designer from any country; a manufacturer from any country presenting a product created by a young designer under 40 years old from any country. The group also decided on five special prizes: Sustainability; The Use of Innovative Technology and Materials; Bringing together art and design; Urban design; and Environment and Energy.
The event is being organized by SAM MDO, in collaboration with l’Arca International magazine and in partnership with the Associazione per il Disegno Industriale, the Institut Français du Design, and the International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers.
