The 2021 Monaco Sevens rugby tournament was given a virtual kick-off Tuesday at the Monaco Yacht Club by French rugby union player Mathieu Bastareaud, who was assisted in play by Prince Albert and Princess Charlene.

On June 19 and 20, 24 men’s and women’s teams will compete at Stade Louis II and the top two teams in each division will qualify for the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games.

The draw for the Monaco Sevens 2021 tournament will take place in Monaco at the end of April.

On June 19, the Sainte-Dévote children’s rugby tournament, arranged by the Monegasque Rugby Federation and with the support of the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation, will take place alongside the Olympic qualifying tournament.

The 2021 Monaco Sevens has been organized with support of the Monegasque Rugby Federation, the government and institutional partners.
