Monaco Red Cross Raises €1.56 Million To Aid Ukraine

The Monaco Red Cross announced it has collected €1,560,000 in aid of those affected by the conflict in Ukraine.

From this amount, €600,000 has been allocated to the International Committee of the Red Cross for emergency relief aid, to repair vital infrastructure, supply medicine and equipment to health establishments and provide families with food, water and hygiene products.

The sum of €350,000 has been given to the International Federation of Red Cross (IFRC) to help refugees from conflicts in the area. The IFRC provides support to those most at risk, including unaccompanied minors, single-parent families and the elderly and disabled.

On a local level, the Monaco Red Cross has been working with the government to offer various tools of support to Ukrainians, such as administrative assistance (which includes procedures for reporting to Public Security), requests for financial aid from the Department of Social Action and Social Assistance and requests for schooling for refugee children.

In addition to these measures, adults can learn French in partnership with Alliance Française, and assistance from Red Cross social services and psychological assistance through the medico-psychological emergency unit CHPG are available. There is also a listening unit from the Monaco Red Cross.

Donations to the Monaco Red Cross can be made online (Action Ukraine) or by sending a cheque made out to the Croix-Rouge monégasque–Ukraine at 27 bd de Suisse, 98000 Monaco.
