The Princess Grace Hospital Center (CHPG) received a cheque for €2 million euros on Tuesday. The generous donation comes from Monaco residents, Angela and Jean Garavagno.
“Over many years of contact with CHPG, we have been able to fully appreciate the organization and efficiency of the various departments, as well as the friendliness of the staff. For these reasons, we decided to make this well-deserved donation,” the 84-year building contractor and his wife commented yesterday.
Hospital director Benoîte de Sevelinges (second from right) said the donation will be used to acquire an ENT neuro-navigation system, a robot for transcranial magnetic stimulation that can be used to treat depression and other psychiatric disorders, and a hemodynamic monitoring system that directly measure blood pressure from inside the veins, heart and arteries. The money will also fund projects for clinical research, palliative care and quality of life at the work place.
In April 2019, the philanthropist couple gifted two villas to the municipality of Trinità in Piedmont, Italy, to the Soggiorno Per Anziani Trinità (assisted living homes for seniors), as Angela Garavagno’s sister has resided there for many years.
