From Rock Icon To Cryptonaire: How Gene Simmons Is Transforming The Face Of Real Estate

Forbes Monaco Crypto Editor, Dustin Plantholt, sat down for an exclusive interview with rock legend Gene Simmons—an early adopter of cryptocurrency—discussing in detail the reasons Gene decided to accept cryptocurrency as a form of payment in the sale of his ultra-luxurious Las Vegas Valley Estate. “I have been an outspoken proponent of cryptocurrency from the beginning. It is the future of money,” says Gene. An astute businessman and serial entrepreneur, he adds, “…it’s just smart business to offer interested parties the option of purchasing the home using cryptocurrency.”

Gene’s appreciation of crypto’s peer-to-peer and decentralized system is what attracted him to this new digital asset class. He states, “…it will not replace cash or gold anytime soon, but rather co-exist happily”, adding, “...governments are being foolish and slowly opening their eyes to the reality of cryptocurrency, because it is here. I have personally met a few people who have made fortunes—millions and some billions—from cryptocurrency.” Gene will accept payment in Bitcoin and Ethereum, and in even lesser-known cryptocurrencies such as Litecoin, PolkaDot, Uniswap, and Aave. And shrewd as he is, he is open to accepting even more cryptocurrencies such as Dogecoin, XRP, XLM, TRX and others dependent on agreeable terms.

Gene’s lavish and ultra-modern desert mansion—currently on the market for $13.5 million—is located in the esteemed and highly sought-after Ascaya community—a luxury gated enclave—just south of the Las Vegas Strip, in Henderson, Nevada. Perched high above the valley and boasting spectacular panoramic views of the Las Vegas Strip and valley, the home sits on a nearly one-acre (two-parcel) tree-lined private property that offers 11,000 square feet of living space. Gene declares, “The views go on forever with the Vegas lights in front of you. Private and fully covered from the sun with tree canopies... there is no property in Las Vegas like this.”

Gene went on to detail some of his most desirable features of the home—exceptional and uncommon—which includes its robust modern construction with three foot poured concrete walls; an industrial strength elevator capable of holding 2,600 pounds and 10 people; a car enthusiast’s underground fully-equipped garage; floor-to-ceiling windows and disappearing glass walls that offer breath-taking views, especially in the master bedroom. Gene says, “...touch controls open the walls allowing you to see the Las Vegas skyline. Watching TV in the master bedroom is a different experience.” Additional amenities include an 11-seat state-of-the-art theatre room, a private bar and lounge area, and a resort-style backyard with a large centerpiece pool, spa and sunken firepit.

Additionally, the pristine Ascaya community boasts a 23,000 square foot clubhouse that houses private social and event spaces, tranquil terraced gardens, and vaulted rooflines. The community’s exclusive amenities include a sprawling fitness facility, a recreation room, pool & spa facilities, pickleball courts, and a two-tiered tennis center. Within 15 minutes driving time to two main airports, it’s conveniently located for travel. In addition, its residents include executives from the world’s top technology companies such as Meta, YouTube, and Twitter.

Plantholt, a crypto connector and advisor to the rich and famous, lists Gene as one of his most revered mentors. He is in admiration of this visionary’s bold move and is very confident that others will follow suit, and quickly. Gene Simmons—rock icon and serial entrepreneur—can now add “Cryptonaire” to his impressive resume.
