Report On A Global Food Revolution Being Driven By The People And Its Opportunities For Impact Investing.

BY 2050, TWO BILLION extra people are expected (1.05 billion in Africa alone) and with a 60% increase in global food demand. What will mid-century consumers look like? What will they buy and how will they consume it? These questions will be shaped by three demographic groups—new Asian urbanites, graying Gen Xers and Millennials.

We are on the brink of a new agricultural revolution. Five megatrends—political economy under scrutiny, the new age consumer; health and wellness; digital catch-up; and sustainable living—will redefine how we farm, ship and consumer food.

“The Food Revolution” is a powerful report from the UBS Chief Investment Office, a team of 200 people publishing investment research based on an entire planet of opportunities.

Their findings show the agriculture industry as a whole, we see the food innovation industry jumping from a market size of $135 billion today to around $700 billion by 2030, representing a 15/% compound annual growth rate.

Sustainable investments resonate globally; clever investments with good returns but at the same time contributing to a sustainable future. Investments that can be in line with the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, addressing everything from climate to environmental degradation, and from poverty to prosperity.

UBS follows the integrate model. They look at all the details of a company to make sure it is aligned with these goals because a potentially green industry may not be so green when it comes to manufacturing. We go a little bit deeper into the company, which is what makes UBS one of the largest sustainable investment providers.

The majority of today’s young people want to first establish a name for themselves while making an impact on the world.”
