EACH OF US has a wildly different idea of what makes Monaco unequivocally magical, but, whatever your expectations, it’s pretty near impossible not to fall in love with this tiny Principality.

Whether it’s watching one of the most exciting F1 Grand Prix races in the world, mingling with the glamorous IT crowd, or indulging in a little luxury retail therapy, Monaco has it all.

I moved to Monaco in the early 2000s. I’d been searching for my own heaven on earth, a place to spend the next phase of my life. Ranking as one of the top countries for standard of living and life expectancy, which for me are qualities that outrank materialism and wealth, Monaco was an easily made decision.

I have never looked back. I spend most of my time in the city-state that I now call home. Yes, the weather adds to the blissful lifestyle, but I’ve had the privilege to develop meaningful friendships here and to cherish the time watching both of my children benefit from the well-developed public education system.

Icing on the cake.

The Principality has always been newsworthy. Sure, you’ve read snippets here and there, but there is much more to this country than sunny days, yacht parties, and the fact that residents pay no personal income tax.

Over the last few years, Monaco has become a vibrant epicenter for business, and preferred location for family offices and international trading houses.

The country’s excellent infrastructure, outstanding security, stable political environment and debt-free economy (reserve funds equal four years of state expenditure) have been the pillars of this recent surge of new business, which align with Monaco’s already established sectors, including the world’s largest banks and most sophisticated global law and accounting firms.

These recent entrepreneurs have breathed new life into the country. Some of them, who are prominent residents, were successful business leaders elsewhere before they started transforming this irresistible destination into a commercially viable marketplace with unique business prospects.

We could not miss the opportunity to report on the many individuals and companies that epitomize the next chapter of this country’s captivating story.
