4 Things You Didn't Know You Could Do Through The Metaverse

Recently Facebook transformed itself; it metamorphized, if you will.

In October, it became Meta, and the rebrand brought a new level of interest to this 'other world' that is the Metaverse, a world that exists beyond keyboards and screens. From Microsoft to Zuckerberg, the Metaverse has been hailed as something of a computer-generated utopia that users can become a part of and interact with each other within.

Exactly what we can accomplish within this space is still being discovered. The terrain is new to many of us, and the maps needed to traverse it are still being written. Explored here are four things that this proposed portal to the future already allows us to do.

Earn while you game

The Metaverse is helping the gamification of financial systems excel in popularity, and the Gamefi sector's power to build wealth through gaming is evolving at lightning-fast speed. Gaming platform CryptoDrop has developed a gaming staking mechanism that allows users to create passive income with the use of a native token and simple gaming rules. It is the only blockchain project that utilizes blockchain's genuine randomness as a gamification model, with a host of games to choose from.

Make your workspace virtual

In these pandemic times, the concept of working virtually hardly seems like an undiscovered innovation, but the scope that the Metaverse brings to this concept is momentous. Oculus, the formative brick in the foundation of the Metaverse, now offers Horizon Workrooms where you can join your work team in a virtual meeting space. Through the power of virtual tracking technology, you can now bring your physical desk, and a compatible tracked keyboard into that virtual space with you.

Buy property The potential offered by the brokerage of digital land is encouraging many people to climb the virtual property ladder. Metaverse Property is the world's first virtual real estate company; it offers users the chance to buy property in various areas of virtual real estate. An example of one of these virtual locations is Decentraland, which is a decentralized virtual reality platform powered by the Ethereum blockchain.

Get an education

Augmented learning is deconstructing classrooms around the world and bringing a level of interaction to education that couldn't truly exist before the Metaverse. Educational platforms like Eon Reality offer a huge interactive library of educational material in a variety of subjects. Apps like this one combine virtual and augmented reality to offer a full 3D view of a subject. These apps can even recreate the classroom environment and offer multi-user sessions.

While the Metaverse opens a host of new possibilities for the future, people are still coming to terms with its tremendous potential.

As we stand on the precipice of tomorrow, a virtual world with boundless possibility stands before us, and we have merely scratched the surface.
